Grandfather Community Foundation strengthens the people and places that make our region special. Through grants, scholarships, and partnerships, we invest in lasting solutions that help neighbors thrive — today and for generations to come.
Grandfather Golf and Country Club members and friends donated $1.7 million for Hurricane Helene Relief. These funds helped individuals, non-profits, schools, and small businesses recover and rebuild. We will continue to provide long-term support for the recovery effort by providing resources to the Avery County Long Term Recovery Group.

At Grandfather Community Foundation, our grants are designed to meet the unique needs of our region — supporting both the nonprofits serving our neighbors and the schools shaping our future. Through targeted funding, we help local leaders turn vision into action and ideas into lasting impact.
What we do
Our three pillars — Community, Philanthropy, and Education — form the foundation of everything we do. Whether you’re a donor, volunteer, educator, or neighbor, there’s a place for you in this mission.
